As we are all busy making our preparations for what is a very different Christmas, please make time to support your local businesses by choosing them for your Christmas food, drink and gifts.
As a business that’s been based in Petersfield and Liss for over 40 years, we know how hard this year has been for many locally based producers and businesses. Lockdowns and limited trading opportunities have meant many local businesses have lost out to the national giants who have the money and resources to plough into online sales or have manage to stay open and sell all types of goods while the local businesses have had to close their doors.
Our business is building handmade kitchens for our local clients – getting to know them and create a kitchen that is unique to them. But most importantly, our kitchens aren’t just for looking at. What makes our clients happiest is cooking and entertaining in their kitchens and if they can do that with local food and drink, everyone’s a winner.
This year, more than ever, the local businesses need your support. Even if you are reluctant or unable to go out shopping, the good news is many of them will deliver locally or enable you to pick up your order in a socially distance manner. Most have websites and many of them are on local facebook groups or you can always use the good old-fashioned phone.

Ashford Farm – Turkeys & Geese
“At Ashford Farm in Steep (near Petersfield) we are a small, family run farm that specialises in free range turkeys and geese which we sell predominately at the farm gate to local customers. Our birds are slow growing, traditional breeds and come to the farm as day old chicks and goslings and, once feathered up, have daily access to our fields below the beautiful Ashford Hangers. We have both bronze and white turkeys. All our birds are dry plucked and come oven ready with cooking instructions. In 2020 we will be offering a drive through collection at the farm”.

Hampshire Fare
Hampshire Fare is a not-for-profit organisation that supports local food, drink and craft producers. They work with over 400 businesses involved in rearing, growing and making an array of produce including cheese, wine, beer, meat, charcuterie, pies, spirits, cider and more.
Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager at Hampshire Fare, has launched a Christmas challenge this year – buy one local gift:
“If we all buy just one local gift or local treat for the Christmas table, it will make a massive difference. This not only helps local businesses to survive at this difficult time, it also supports our local communities and the local economy – both dependent on local businesses to flourish and thrive.”
