From Royal Marine to carpenter

dowers bespoke kitchens carpenter

Our team at Dowers has grown even more. We have recently taken on another new carpenter / cabinet maker. Nicholas retrained to become a carpenter a few years ago after a distinguished career in the Royal Marines.

We’ve asked Nick to tell you a little more about himself.

My name is Nicholas Walker and I am a new member at Dowers Bespoke Kitchens. I am an accomplished carpenter, and I enjoy using my skills to contribute to every exciting bespoke project we do at Dowers. I completed my apprenticeship with Highbury College in 2018 while creating new builds within the leisure industry.

I grew up in Emsworth and was always building and painting anything from models to treehouses. Before my career in bespoke carpentry began, I fulfilled a long ambition to become a Royal Marine, earning my Green Beret in 2004 and serving in many places around the globe.

I now live in Waterlooville and am blessed with a young family with two boys. My partner teaches at a local primary school which is perfect for her as she is wonderful with children.

I’ve loved combining my passion for carpentry with my career and enjoy working on the many wonderful bespoke kitchens we create for our clients.

We welcome visitors to our showroom and you might see Nick and our other cabinet makers hard at work on their latest creations. Come and say hello.
