Over the past year or so we have invested a substantial amount of time developing our illuminated work surfaces, Guy initially created the stunning work surface below after a customer asked for ‘something a bit different’ and so they got it!

From here the design has been developed from work surfaces to stairs, basically, any surface where a light can be fitted to enhance the aspect of the design. Because we have worked so hard on the design and are incredibly happy with it, we thought it was about time we showed it off, and the Surface Design Show as the perfect opportunity!

The Surface Design Show held at The Business Design Centre in London is an event designed for architects, designers, buyers, specifier or decision makers to meet suppliers, network and source products, learn from industry professionals and gain new insights into innovative and exciting materials.

Some of the highlights show included:

• Over 150 exhibiting companies from 10 different countries
• Our Light School section offers the very best in architectural lighting innovations and inspiration
• The Stone Gallery and its Stone Hub area is an industry-leading event for specifying natural stone
• 39 presentations on 3 different stages with some 52 speakers covering an exceptional range of topics
• New to Surface Design Show was their New Talent area with16 of the brightest new talents around showing off their designs

We were so impressed with some of the outstanding designs and use of materials that were on show. Very inspirational!

Once we had set up with our designs in place we were happy with the interest we received, the stand was busy for the full 2.5 days.

We have spent many years designing and installing bespoke handmade kitchens, studies and bedroom storage solutions, over the years we have realised how homes need to respond with the changing demands of our lives, with technology playing a huge part in this. So we also had on show our built-in phone charging solutions which can be built effectively into any surface, in the most convenient places. Our phone charge points will change colour once the phone has fully charged.

Our illuminated worktops and staircases can be designed and made for any space from homes to commercial properties, think, hotel receptions, staircases, tables, office reception areas – anywhere you want to make an impact whilst still having a practical worktop.

All our products are handmade in our workshop in Petersfield, Hampshire.
