Handcrafted to perfection

At Dowers we take a great deal of pride in what we do. Making each item by hand means that we feel every kitchen we produce has just a little bit of us in it. The thought that our clients will be using and enjoying their kitchen for many years to come is incredibly satisfying.

We always install breadboard ends on wooden worktops where they butt up to an AGA, Rayburn or similar appliance to minimise shrinkage damage to the worktop.

The perfect line

Joining two sections of timber on a diagonal helps to create a smooth finish and harmonious appearance on a surface feature such as a breakfast bar.

Traditional dovetails are precise and very strong, extremely important for a busy kitchen where drawers are increasing becoming more important than doors in base units.

Appliances like fridges need to have air circulation around them. Rather than just leave a gap it part of the kitchen..

Creating space

Bookshelves at the end of a cabinet or islands create useful extra storage space; full-width drawer fronts cleverly maintain the overall look.

Virtue out of necessity

You may not have much choice about having the boiler in your kitchen – but building a matching cabinet around means you don’t have to look at it.

Rather than cover up existing interesting features in a wall, by not putting a back on a cupboard and we create a feature inside the cupboard. As shown in this dresser.

A dedicated drawer with a selection of pre-cut slots is the simplest, safest and most practical way to store your kitchen knives.

Everything in its place

Cupboards next to the cooker, units cut to fit around existing features like beams, even a special bin cupboard – we’ll help you make use of every inch of space.
